Here we can see the stern wrath of God and His unchangeably grave attitude towards sin and the sinner. He did not want to release His own beloved Son to the mercy of sinners. He would only do this as a heavy penance on their behalf (...). If you really think deeply about the fact that God’s own Son suffers, you will probably be shocked. The longer you ponder on this matter, the deeper will be your horror. Sin must be destroyed completely or it will destroy you.
