For tourists from both Germany and abroad, the sites of the Reformation in Germany are destinations that create strong emotions. Stimulating the desire in the U.S.A. to travel to the Luther Decade

    Wittenberg

The most famous event connected with the Luther city of Wittenberg has never really happened: Luther's nailing of his 95 theses to the door of the city church is most likely pure legend.

    Eisleben

The Reformer Martin Luther was born in Eisleben on November 10th, 1483, and he also died there. Although the family only lived there for some time, Luther's life has many connections to the fate of the city.

    Legends

Good stories are told about the dramatic moments in Luther's life: However, historical evidence for them tends to be sparse. Did the Reformer, during his stay on the Wartburg, really throw his ink well at the devil, because he was disturbed by him during his concentrated work of translating the Bible?
