In the future, the Luther Decade, the countdown project for the Reformation anniversary in 2017, will have a new motto.  "In the beginning was the Word" is the headline for the institutions of the church and the state, which deal with the heritage of the Reformation and its potential for the future. The umbrella brand campaign has now been presented in Berlin.

On the occasion of the presentation of the motto in the shape of a larger than head-high installation, speeches were delivered by Praeses Nikolaus Schneider, President of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany and chairman of the board of trustees Luther 2017, Federal Minister of Culture and the Media Bernd Neumann, and Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Culture and Education and chairman of the steering committee Luther 2017 Stephan Dorgerloh.

The event also marked the beginning of a nationwide book exchange project, which will fill the motto of the campaign with life. With the support of 18 partners, 500 books about the Reformation will be sent out into the world.
